Teresa Cartel Kok Haul Over The Coals
I believe that it is better to tell the truth than a lie. I believe it is better to be free than to be a slave and I surely believe it is better to know than to be ignorant. A Chinese proverb saying "A wise man makes his own decisions while an ignorant man follows the public opinion".
Maybe some of us wonder, why MyEG were the only company allowed to do such services related to foreign workers permit. MyEG has been tasked to create and compile a centralised database which own by the Immigration Department of Malaysia for
1. Legal foreign workers
2. Illegal foreign workers
3. Legal employers
4. Employers who do not know that they are being
used to register illegal foreign workers.
5. Employers who employed illegal foreign workers.
MyEG has an obligation on behalf of the government to visit the offices of all the legal employers to verify their premises and capture biometric identification of their authorised representatives. To have a clean and comprehensive database, single party has to be responsible onto it. It will not worked if multiple party involved.
In Malaysia as to date, is not a weird things to see foreign worker scattered everywhere. From the coffee shop, mamak stall, restaurants, wet and dry market, supermarket, construction site, engineering works, factory, plantation and everywhere else you can easily spotted a foreign workers. Some businesses were also run by the foreign workers. Some state in Malaysia has start to ban foreign worker to work on a hawkers stall, Penang was the first to ban it. What makes me wonder, will the small hawkers stall have license to employed a foreign workers? Are they actually hiring an illegal workers?
Talking about the fairness of an established company who hired foreign workers legally compared to a company who hired an illegal foreign workers? An established company paying big amount of fees to hire legal foreign workers while some taking advantages hiring an illegal foreign workers which clearly the lower cost to obtained.
Everyday in the news we read about absconded maid. The employers spending more than RM8k to hire a maid to assist them and very frustrating for them when the maid took off just after few months working with them. Where did all of them goes? Will there be a syndicate collecting this maid to work at the food stalls with better offer to give? I just couldn't put the puzzles together. I don't know whether to keep silent and let people think I am ignorant or open my mouth and release all doubts.
Why Teresa Kok out of sudden bring up this issue related to MyEG especially on foreign workers permit matters? Who actually she's protecting. Will Teresa Kok involve in the trade of illegal worker as the syndicate? Or is she owned the cartel on human trafficking herself?
Teresa Kok should be investigated. It really doesn't make sense why she brought up this issue in the first place as there were tons of other issues to be brought up which giving substantial benefit to the people. Egotism is the anesthetic that dulls the pain of stupidity.
